NAFLD BioResource Newsletter

Issue 11 – November 2022

Welcome to our November newsletter. As always, we’ll be reviewing patient recruitment across participating sites and sharing key updates to be aware of. Thanks to your efforts, even with the Royal Mail strikes another 123 participants were recruited this month, an increase on October’s total. We have one more month left this year, so let’s finish 2022 on a high to round off a very successful year for the NAFLD BioResource!
A big welcome to Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust who are the newest site to join the NAFLD BioResource.

Total recruitment

Please see the table below showing recruitment at each site since the study was launched.

Top 3 recruiters this month

A special shout-out to the following sites for recruiting the highest numbers in November:
  • Queen’s Medical Centre (18)
  • Medway Maritime Hospital (11)
  • Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (10)

Recruitment will be paused in December, so please plan accordingly. The last day for sending samples will be Friday 16th December and recruitment can resume on Tuesday 3rd January.

Study extension

We are glad to announce that the NAFLD BioResource has been given additional funding allowing us to extend our project for a further 2 years. All sites have been notified of the Non-Substantial Amendment 19, so please carry on recruiting as normal.

Keep up to date with the NIHR BioResource by visiting the website, where you can learn more about the NAFLD BioResource too. Researchers can find out about using the BioResource to support research studies and there’s plenty of useful information for recruiting sites.
